Meet Cara, a busy Mom who always put her family and work first.  By taking care of those two important pieces of her life, she had NO TIME for her own health and physical fitness.  Cara began to gain weight, her clothes didn’t fit like they once had, and her stress levels were high which led to poor nutritional choices.  Not feeling good about the changes that had taken place, Cara decided she needed to make a change.  Here is Cara’s story and how she now MAKES TIME for her own health and fitness. This month marks one full year since I joined Training For Warriors and started my transformation journey. Up until 18 months ago, I was a stay at home Mom and made time to exercise and prepare healthy meals as often as possible. In March 2016, my life turned completely upside down when not only did I return to work, but I also started a brand new career. Suddenly, I had much less time for myself. Within 3-6 months I gained 15 pounds! I no longer made time for fitness. Since my job required that I be in the car a lot, I started eating fast food or skipping meals and then binge eating when I got home. It was a vicious cycle, but I was too busy and stressed to care or to do anything about it.


That all changed when some close friends told me about TFW last summer. It sounded like a great place with an amazing atmosphere, but I was nervous about being able to keep up with the workouts. Especially since it had been so long since I exercised! In September, those same friends invited me to attend an orientation about an 8 week Transformation program.  I started to search TFW Ponte Vedra Beach on Facebook and watched a video of Phil talking about the transformation. He said that while you may think you don’t have time for fitness, the reality is that you will pay a price later if you don’t MAKE time for yourself now. That resonated with me and I contacted him to join the program.


At the orientation, I learned that the TFW Coaches were going to start everyone out slow and help us build up to joining the regular TFW classes. Now I had no excuses left! Some students spoke about how the program changed their lives and about the close knit “familia” they made. I wasn’t sure if that would be the same case for me, but I signed up anyway! I figured it was only 8 weeks so what did I have to lose? 


A year later, I’ve lost 9 pounds of fat, lost inches and feel better and stronger than ever before.  I learned to MAKE time to train 4-5 days a week. The people from the transformation class and the people in the 6am class are like family. Everyone is so positive and encouraging. The coaches are amazing and there are only 5 of them so they really get a chance to know you. Every session begins with an inspirational story. Those usually resonate with me and I’m able to apply them to my life, especially with my recent career change. What a fantastic way to start the day!

I’m so thankful for my friends who told me about TFW and the “familia”. I look forward to my next 6am workout and seeing what else I can accomplish!
