I have always enjoyed the outdoors and being active, but as my children began to get older and were involved in competitive sports, I became a chauffeur and a spectator. My only exercise was an occasional walk or bike ride with friends. I began to feel my weight creeping up and knew I needed more. I needed someone to guide and support me as I began an exercise regime.

TFW was that push I needed. The coaches support and encourage me. They check in on my nutrition and they fill my soul with positive motivational messages. At first, I tried to work out only 1-3 days a week and continue to eat whatever I wanted because I felt like my training would counteract the calories, even though I could always hear Phil in my head saying, “You can’t out train a bad diet.” His nutritional talks and the TFW cookbooks have motivated me to try healthy new recipes and move into a more plant-based diet. I also prepare a week’s worth of lunches on Sunday evening so I don’t spend as much time in the kitchen where I will be tempted to snack. These changes and the semiannual DOJO challenges keep me motivated and push me to be a better version of me.

I now train 4-6 days a week even rearranging my social calendar so I don’t miss a work out. I consider the coaches and the other TFW students my friends and I look forward to seeing them each evening. TFW is an important part of my life! I believe in the program and my enthusiasm has rubbed off on friends, family and coworkers. It is especially rewarding when my healthy, active kids in their 20’s train with me and see how hard I work.

I am blessed to be a part of TFW where I am surrounded by friendly, encouraging, positive people who are always looking for ways to help others as they better themselves.
