My name is Lauryn Findlay and I am part of the coaching staff at Training for Warriors as well as the Creekside High School girl’s basketball program. This is my first year as a coach for both programs, although I have assisted coaching girl’s basketball for over two years now. My experience playing basketball throughout my high school career has ushered in my love of coaching fitness and basketball. Being born into a family full of athletes and coaches have inspired me greatly. My grandfather coached my dad as a young boy, and when I grew up, my father coached me. I was always taught the important principles behind coaching, showing that coaching is more than just teaching individuals a game or a concept, but it is a way of life for individuals to improve their overall physical and mental well being and livelihood. I have recently graduated from the University of North Florida with my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Health Studies. While studying my degree, my knowledge of athletics and fitness increased rapidly. I could no longer be categorized as just an athlete, but a student of fitness and athletics as well. I have a special adoration for athletes and hope to one day work with individual athletes on their health and fitness journeys as well. More importantly, I want everyone of any age, size, or background to be able to achieve their fitness and nutritional goals to obtain the best quality of life that they desire for.
